Modern Minimalism at the Conservatory of Flowers

Modern Minimalist wedding at the Conservatory of Flowers san francisco

Margaret and Jeff’s wedding at the Conservatory of Flowers in San Francisco was a celebration of modern minimalism within one of the city’s most iconic natural spaces. They wanted floral design that felt architectural and effortless—enhancing the environment without overwhelming it.

The design centered around a neutral, organic palette with soft greenery and muted florals in shades of blush, caramel, and peach. The bouquet blended tree peonies, blue delphinium, and tweedia, bringing both softness and subtle contrast.

For the ceremony, we created a low-profile floral arbor—a modern take on the traditional arch. Rather than lining every aisle, we anchored the back row with grounded floral compositions featuring grasses, foliage, and textured blooms. The result was understated, sculptural, and seamlessly integrated with the glasshouse’s architecture.

The outdoor reception space combined round and rectangular tables to create movement and dimension. Round tables featured medium floral centerpieces and votive candles for an intimate glow. Rectangular tables showcased Ikebana-inspired arrangements layered with compote centerpieces and slender taper candles, balancing structure and negative space.

The final result was an editorial, artfully restrained floral experience—where every design choice amplified the natural beauty of the space and reflected the intentional tone of the day.
