FAQ

  • Malva + Moss is based in the Bay Area, serving San Francisco, Napa, Sonoma, and Northern California. We are available for travel throughout the region for weddings, installations, and private events.

  • Most couples reach out 6–12 months before their event. Our calendar is intentionally limited to ensure a deeply personalized experience, so early inquiries are encouraged.

  • Wedding floral investments typically begin at $5,000. Most clients invest between $10,000–$20,000 for a full floral experience reflective of the scale, artistry, and detail Malva + Moss brings to each event.

  • No. Every event is designed from the ground up—bespoke, sculptural, and intentional. We believe true artistry is shaped for a moment, not mass-produced.

  • We begin with a discovery call to understand your vision. Following our conversation, you will receive a custom proposal crafted with intention. To reserve your date, we require a signed agreement and a 50% non-refundable retainer. Once booked, we collaborate closely with you—and your planner if applicable—throughout the design journey.

  • The retainer secures your event date on our calendar and covers the time, sourcing, planning, and creative development invested into your custom floral design. It allows us to reserve premium blooms, schedule our production team, and begin shaping your event with full attention.

  • Whenever possible, we source blooms and botanical elements from local farms and growers. Seasonality, quality, and sustainability guide our selections, ensuring each design feels grounded, fresh, and alive. Depending on your preferences and the desired floral selection, we may also source imported blooms through trusted wholesale vendors to achieve a specific palette or texture for your day. We are flexible and happy to follow your preferences, though we remain passionate advocates for designing with locally grown flowers whenever possible.

  • Our philosophy prioritizes sustainable, foam-free design techniques—building mechanics that honor both the art form and the natural world. However, in rare and complex cases, certain large-scale installations may require minimal use of floral foam to ensure structural integrity. We remain transparent in these instances and always strive to minimize its use. Whenever possible, we guide designs toward fully sustainable methods without compromising artistic vision or client preferences.

  • In some cases, yes. We approach repurposing thoughtfully to preserve the integrity, movement, and intention of each floral installation. Not all designs are intended to be moved, but where appropriate, we will recommend seamless transitions that maintain the original artistry.

  • Yes. We offer a curated selection of vessels, candleware, and floral structures for rental—each piece selected to complement the design language of your event.

  • Once your date is secured, you will receive ongoing support through the planning process. A final design confirmation and logistical walkthrough will be completed 8–10 weeks before your event, ensuring every detail is aligned and every flower placed with intention.

  • That’s perfectly natural. You do not need to arrive with a complete vision. Our process is collaborative and layered—rooted in conversation, inspiration, and trust. We will guide you toward a floral story that feels artful, personal, and entirely yours.
