Botanical Legacy at the Outdoor Art Club
Held at the historic Outdoor Art Club—founded in the early 1900s to protect California’s redwood forests—Robin and Miles’ wedding honored both place and purpose. The couple, deeply committed to sustainability and rooted in environmental legacy, envisioned a celebration that felt raw, modern, and aligned with their values. Miles, a third-generation environmentalist, was especially drawn to our foam-free approach and locally sourced materials.
The floral design was inspired by wild nature, contemporary art, and the vibrant excess of spring. The bridal bouquet was composed as a sculptural statement piece—featuring anthuriums, wild greenery, amaranthus, artichokes, and untamed grasses. It was a response to a request echoed throughout the planning process: florals that didn’t look like traditional wedding flowers, but still carried a natural, botanical essence.
At the ceremony, two grounded floral structures emerged from the earth like living sculptures—wild in form, designed with foam-free mechanics, and intentionally asymmetrical. They gave the illusion of spontaneous growth, while anchoring the space in thoughtful design.
Each reception table held a wild arrangement, presented in ceramic trays. These centerpiece compositions showcased exotic florals, sculptural greenery, and local elements like wild strawberries and allium—offering a fine art interpretation of California’s agricultural landscape. The result was raw yet refined, dramatic yet grounded.
Over 90% of the florals were sourced from local farms, a quiet tribute to the land, the couple’s values, and the generosity of California’s growing season. The final design felt wild, intentional, and deeply personal—a reflection of nature, legacy, and quiet conviction.
“We cannot put into words the feelings the flowers for our wedding evoked in us. Alisa took the ideas from my head and translated them effortlessly into floral design.”
